Sort packaging materials with your local nonprofit and join us afterwards for Book Club pt. 2!About this Event
is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that collects shipping materials from Chicagoland communities and distributes them to businesses and individuals for reuse. Sort packaging materials with your local nonprofit and join us afterward for the second meeting of our autumn book club! We will be reading and discussing How Far the Light Reaches by Sabrina Imbler.
Volunteers will help sort donations of packaging materials at our space in Avondale at 3248 N Pulaski Rd between 12:00pm-1:15 pm. Please ensure you arrive in enough time to get settled in! Sorting begins promptly at 12:00pm.
Book Club kicks off afterward for volunteers, when we'll gather in our event space to discuss the themes from the second half of the book. Find the book at a library near you or get your own copy from our Avondale neighbor Skunk Cabbage Books! Mention EcoShip's book club at checkout for 10% off How Far the Light Reaches or use code ECOSHIP10 when buying your copy online!
Pt. 1 of Book Club is taking place on Thursday, October 22nd, 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Arrival/Parking: There is a lot of paid street parking on Pulaski Rd and Milwaukee Ave. Free street parking can be found further west on Melrose St and School St.
*If you can no longer make it, please go ahead and cancel your ticket so that others can join. Thank you!
