Volunteer With State Rep. Jolanda Jones at TSU Homecoming 2026

🐯 TSU HOMECOMING IS HERE, AND WE NEED VOLUNTEERS READY TO SHOW UP!

Join State Representative Jolanda Jones and the House District 147 team for the 2026 Texas Southern University Homecoming Parade in Third Ward.

We are putting together a volunteer team to walk alongside the Representative, cheer, wave to the crowd, take pictures, celebrate TSU, and bring some serious Homecoming energy to the parade route. 📣🎉

Come dressed in TSU maroon and gray, TSU gear, or something festive and comfortable. Wear good walking shoes, bring water, charge your phone, and come ready for one of the biggest mornings of TSU Homecoming.

🚨 VOLUNTEERS MUST MEET OUR TEAM AT 7:30 AM SHARP.

TSU participant check in begins at 6:45 AM, lineup begins at 7:00 AM, and all registration and street access close at 8:00 AM. The TSU Police Department will begin its street lockdown promptly at 8:00 AM, so volunteers arriving late may have difficulty reaching our parade group.

Our team will handle the organization check in process. Volunteers simply need to make sure they are at our meetup location by 7:30 AM and ready to go.

The parade officially begins at 8:30 AM.

This is a walking volunteer opportunity, so please come prepared to be outside, walk the parade route, interact with the community, cheer, wave, and represent with us.

And yes, there will absolutely be opportunities to grab pictures with State Rep. Jolanda Jones throughout the morning. 📸🐯

Please allow yourself enough time to park and walk to our meetup location at 3800 Sampson Street by 7:30 AM.

I strongly recommend parking before 7:15 AM so you are not rushing to meet the group.

Once TSU begins the 8:00 AM street lockdown, access to the parade staging area will be restricted.

Please register one person per RSVP so we have an accurate volunteer count.

Only registered volunteers should plan to join our parade group.

Please do not wait until parade morning to RSVP. Once you are registered, plan to be parked, at the meetup location, and with our team by 7:30 AM sharp.
