About this Event
Volunteer with Grassroots Ecology to support the restoration of an ecologically rich urban section of Redwood Creek near downtown Redwood City. During our time together, we will move across uneven terrain, using hand tools and buckets to install native plants and pick up litter. In celebration of Halloween, you are welcome to wear a costume! Just make sure you are wearing pants that can get dirty.
Visit Grassroots Ecology’s Redwood Creek webpage to learn more about the ecosystem and accessibility considerations.
Waivers/Registration: All volunteers attending the workday must be registered individually and have approved the online waiver through this Eventbrite page. Youth under 18 must have their legal guardian approve the waiver on their behalf. Volunteers age 12 and under require an accompanying adult.
Meeting Space: We will meet at the far end of the parking lot behind Carl's Jr. that is at Veterans Blvd. and Main St. There are no public restrooms or water fountains at the restoration site, but there are several local businesses that are within walking distance from our meeting location. Please prepare accordingly.
Alternate Transportation: The Jefferson Ave & Marshall St stop on SamTrans Route 270 is about a 6-minute walk (0.3 miles) from the meeting location. The Redwood City Transit Center is about a 12-minute walk (0.6 miles) from the meeting location.
