About this Event
What will you do?
Remove and manage invasive plants with gloves, trowels, loppers, pick-axes, shovels, tarps, and more. Suitable for ages 12 and up. We may also move plant debris and branches to clear out the meadow, so lifting will be involved.
This event will start at Greenwood Park at 176 Pond St, Stoneham. We'll hike about five minutes to our work location.
Please bring a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, your own reusable water bottle, and a snack, if you would like one. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes, long sleeves, long socks, layers, and pants to help prevent exposure to poison ivy or ticks.
Please note that there are no restrooms at this site.
Light work gloves will also be provided. Please feel free to bring personal gloves and/or hand gardening tools if you would like.
This program is a part of the initiative to give back to the park and protect the Fells for our human and wildlife users.
- Listen for other people on trails and make space to pass
- Keep dogs leashed outside of designated off-leash areas
- Leave no trace of litter or waste
- Stay on trails - on foot, paw, or bike
