About this Event
Help turn a house into a home.
For new mothers with newborns, a safe home is the first step to a healthy start. Family Promise of Riverside is opening a house (Bright Horizon) for moms who leave the hospital with nowhere to go. This home will house multiple families at a time.
Join us to make that house feel like home: a kitchen where meals are cooked and shared, and a backyard where kids can just be kids.
On Saturday, November 7 from 9-2 pm, Blue Zones Project Riverside is teaming up with Family Promise of Riverside , for a day of volunteering. Choose the team that fits you best, and by the end of the day you’ll have helped create two of the most important spaces in a family’s life.

- Wash and dry items before they’re put away
- Organize cabinets and drawers so everything is easy to find
- Break down boxes and clean up packaging
- Build a food pantry with shelf stable items
What to wear:
- Comfortable clothes
No experience? Perfect.
No special skills are needed on either team, just a willingness to pitch in. We’ll show you exactly what to do, and there’s a job for every skill level.
Snacks and water will be provided.
