Help fellow Mountaineers and Friends place American Flags at Houston National Cemetery for Memorial Day. We are again partnering with Flags for Fallen Vets on Sunday, May 28th starting at 9 AM. We will be in Section D again. This activity should last until noon and the event will happen rain or shine! This a family friendly event; we recommend volunteers to be at least 3 years old.
Volunteer duties:
Each volunteer will be given flags to place on Veterans grave sites. Volunteers will measure 12" from the headstones, use a screw driver to make a 5" pilot hole for the flag and place the flag. Once the flag has been placed, Volunteers will say each Veterans name and THANK THEM for their service.
Please bring:
~ Ruler - to measure 12" out from the headstones
~ Screw Driver - to make a pilot hole for sinking the flags 5" into the ground
Please provide your email address, name, and cell phone number. You will receive an email confirmation of your registration.
