About this Event
A one day festival of interactive arts, featuring theatre, dance, installations and more: all of it playable. The programme of events is below, plus audio, film and self-guided interactive experiences to follow at your own pace.
Session One
- Jury Duty (90 mins) A fire. A dead man. A guilty plea for arson, but not for M**der. The truth must come out. Under the Justice Act (2021), you have been summoned as a remote juror for a new kind of online trial. Review the evidence, speak to the accused, and come to a conclusion. Is he guilty or not guilty? And is there more to this case than meets the eye?
- Strings, Unwired Dance (25 minutes)Act as a collective to make the dance happen. Using a combination of haptic and mobile technology, audience and performer collaborate in this unique interactive dance experience.
- An Unbuilt Room, Seth Kriebel (30 minutes)Collaborative storytelling with Seth Kriebel (A House Repeated). There is a room, here. A world. To uncover it, all you have to do is use the right words. What do you want to do.
- Social gaming (30 minutes)Collaborative storytelling and gameplay combine, as you become part of another world.
Session Two
- Come Worship Our Uncanny King, by Leo Doulton (Come Bargain with Uncanny Things) (90 minutes) Enter a supernatural ritual in praise and celebration of a regent of the fey.
- This Time (Travel) Will Be Different, by Chloe Mashiter (Roll / Flip / Draw; Parabolic; Upstart Theatre) (60 minutes) Time travellers needed to assist in the calibration, programming, assembly and testing of a new approach to time travel. *Includes those whose time-travelling has not yet occurred in their personal timelines.
- The Folorn Hope by Craig Edgar (90 minutes) When aliens invade the earth and all hope seems lost. All that stands in their way is one agitated and overcaffeinated civil servant and a rag tag band of civilian volunteers. As the world crumbles, will you do your best to save it using your wits, online graphic design tools, and maybe interpretive dance.
- Generative poetry workshop from Mark Ward, voidspace press' first published poet (90 minutes)
Session Three
- Richard III (60 minutes)Interactive Shakespeare from Emily Carding (The Locksmith's Dream)
- We Sing, I Sang (60 minutes 30) Post-apocalyptic interactive opera from CN Lester (Come Bargain With Uncanny Things)
- Gaming workshop (60 minutes) Creative workshop from Nick Murray (Now Play This, Playing Poetry). No coding experience necessary.Further details to follow
Access: Full access guide to follow. All performances will include seating options. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible, and includes accessible and gender neutral toilet facilities, and a quiet room with adjustable lighting, weighted blankets and sensory toys. Optional masks and sanitizer will be provided, with a HEPA filter in the cafe area.
