Like equality-focused cryptocurrencies and DAOs to organise without relying on institutions.We give hands-on demos of particular projects, leaving you ready to use them and understand their implications.
This time we focus on Ledgernomix, a highly-entertaining web3 game that demonstrates the power of blockchain as you play, whilst giving new perspectives on economics.
We discuss the game’s features, and what it shows about blockchain and political economy, before playing the game for most of the session.
“Each game of Ledgernomix is a distributed autonomous organisation, or DAO, governed by a contract that exists on the blockchain. It can also be looked at as a self-contained model economy and model parliament.”
Played in groups of 4 to 7 people over an hour or two, each game of Ledgernomix is governed by a blockchain contract.
Each player stakes up to £10 in the game’s pot. At the end the money will be returned to the players in proportion to their in-game points. The primary way to get points is by proposing a change to the rules of the game and persuading the other players to vote for it.
Open to all - no prior experience required. Please bring a laptop with Metamask.io wallet in Chrome/Firefox installed in advance and set up with a live wallet.
