Virginia Water Cascades & Windsor Castle – Sat 27 Jun 2026 (Long Walk Live day)Fancy a full countryside day out with lakes, gardens, waterfalls and a royal finish? We’ll hike from Virginia Water through the Cascades and Valley Gardens, cross Windsor Great Park, then walk the famous Long Walk with direct views of Windsor Castle. And the timing is perfect because that weekend they’re doing Long Walk Live, so the atmosphere around Windsor will be amazing.
Meeting & transport
- Meet: 8:30 AM at Waterloo Station
- Start walking: 9:35 AM from Virginia Water Station
- Finish: Windsor & Eton Riverside Station

Useful note about tickets
If you choose group transport, we travel together there and back from the same station. If you plan to return separately or get off elsewhere, please buy your own ticket in advance.
What to bring
Comfortable walking footwear, waterproof jacket/trousers (always a good idea), water (at least 1 litre, ideally 2), lunch for the picnic stop, and some extra money if you fancy a pub afterwards.
