We’re kicking things off at Pam’s Coffy, the retro Los Feliz café inspired by legendary actress Pam Grier and her iconic 1973 film Coffy. The café, located next to the historic Vista Theatre, is filled with ’70s-inspired décor, vintage movie memorabilia, and nods to Grier’s unforgettable place in Black cinema.
Pam Grier became one of the most recognizable Black women in film during the 1970s, starring in films like Coffy, Foxy Brown, and later Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown. Her characters challenged the way Black women were represented on screen and helped make her a true cinematic icon.
From Pam’s Coffy, we’ll hit the streets of Los Feliz for a 90-minute creative photo walk, looking for vintage storefronts, architecture, textures, signs, people, and all the little details that make the neighborhood feel like a movie set.
