Gordon E. McCaw Vancouver Vintage Diners Photograph Collection
Gord has been documenting Vancouver, British Columbia, and North America through photography since the 1970s, building an extensive visual record shaped by curiosity, observation, and a deep connection to the places and people around him.
On June 1, 1979, Gord arrived in Vancouver—a city that would become both his home and one of his most enduring subjects. He worked at Colorific Photo Labs before establishing his own studio and darkroom in Gastown. For more than two decades, his studios in the Downtown Eastside became the base for his photographic practice and personal projects.
A visual journey in time through the diners and its stories.
