The Village Christmas Party at the Daylesford Hotel is the festive affair for those who want all the delight of a work Christmas party without the tiresome organising. A little mischief, a little magic, and not a spreadsheet in sight.Expect a shared feast worthy of gossip: prawn cocktail rolls to start, snapper crudo, maple-glazed ham and a chicken and cranberry roulade carved for the table, roast vegetables, pavlova begging for a second spoonful, and fruit mince tarts that would make even Mrs Claus loosen her corset.
This year the glasses are taken care of too. Three hours of festive pours from our friends at Pizzini, from Prosecco on arrival to a Brachetto that tastes like Christmas lollies in a glass. Not drinking? We'll look after you.
And when the plates are cleared, we're heading out to the beer garden for carols with Rohan Windle, Daylesford's favourite piano man, guaranteed to nudge even the shyest guest into festive revelry.
