Bennington, Mill Store 1865 is happy to announce an exhibition of paintings by Matt Chinian and Mattias Van Cleef. Both artists emerged from the rich community of Bennington College: Chinian, class of 1984 and Van Cleef class of 2026. The two painters find their subjects for this show in the landscape. Chinian practices plein air painting, focusing on human impact on the environment, particularly through the presence of vehicles in his compositions. Van Cleef draws inspiration from scenes throughout southern Vermont and beyond, pulling cues from American Realism, Impressionism, and Naturalism.The exhibition will hang from Novemnber 20-January31 with an opening reception on Friday, November 20, at 5:00 p.m -7:00 p.m. at Mill Store 1865, 121 Benmont Avenue, Benniongton VT
