The Grand Valley Piano Chamber Series presents its sixth season: “Viennese Dreams!” This concert, Program II of the season, presents two special works from the piano chamber music canon: Mozart’s E-flat Piano Quartet and Brahms F-minor Piano Quintet. Mozart’s E-flat Piano Quartet is the second of only two piano quartets by the composer and among the first piano quartets ever written. Brahms’ Piano Quintet, written in 1864, first appeared as a string quintet (now lost) and later also appeared as a sonata for two pianos. The Ariel Quartet, winner of many accolades including the Cleveland Quartet Award, joins GVPCS Artistic Director, Sookkyung Cho.
As always, GVPCS concerts are free and open to the public!
