The 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞́𝐨-𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛 series is a Vidéographe initiative in collaboration with Cinéma Moderne. Every three months, Vidéographe invites cinephiles and the cine-curious to an evening of screening and discussion around a program drawn from works in its collection.
Titled 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓, 𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒎𝒚, this program brings together three films examining relations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in the Americas. From Brazil to Canada, these works explore the colonial violence that continues to shape the present, from assimilation to territorial dispossession. Both witnesses and instruments of intercultural dialogue, they question the position of non-Indigenous spectators within these relations and open up possibilities for other ways of being together.
The program was curated by 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨, a Brazilian independent curator, mediator, and cultural worker based in Montréal.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with Tiuré Potiguara and Daniel Dinato.
