Videos are no longer a nice-to-have luxury for companies, organisations and individuals. With people chronically online and attention spans lasting only a split second, delivering your message to the right audience has never been more difficult.
As feeds increasingly prioritise video and human connection, learning the art and craft of creating high-quality, scroll-stopping videos has become essential for anyone working in communication and beyond.
In our two-day shooting and editing video course filmmaker, cameraman and trainer Bryan Carter will teach you the basics of video storytelling and how to shoot and edit film professionally.
The emphasis is on learning through doing and you will leave the training having shot, scripted, edited and uploaded a video segment.

Practical details
📍 Where: Rue de Stassart 117, 1050 Brussels. Our beautiful offices are located in Place Stéphanie, a short walk from Porte de Namur.
🕘 When: 16-17 November, 9:30–17:30 (14h)
👥 Group size: The group is limited to 10 people, so everyone receives individual feedback on their footage and edits.
☕ Included: We’ll provide refreshments and snacks throughout the day, but lunch is not included. However, there are plenty of places to eat near our training facilities.
Agenda
1. Planning your video
Info: You'll start by understanding the principles of video storytelling and define the purpose, message and audience of your video. From there, you'll learn how to prepare a video shoot.
2. Understanding the fundamentals of video shooting
Info: You'll get comfortable manoeuvring your gear and use framing and composition techniques to shoot intentionally. You'll also work with light, aperture, shutter speed, ISO and learn how to shoot people in different settings and for different channels.
3. Shooting in practice
Info: You'll put your skills to the test by capturing strong visuals and b-roll, keeping your shots steady and recording usable audio on location.
4. Getting started with video editing
Info: You'll learn the main principles of video editing and explore the editing tools and workspaces. You'll also discover how to craft a consistent visual identity through your video.
5. Working with colour, audio, text and visual effects
Info: You'll dive into colour correction and grading, then explore transitions, visual effects and overlays. You'll use titles and graphics to elevate your video and learn how to adjust and edit your audio.
6. Refining, adapting and publishing your video
Info: You'll review your edits and videos before tailoring them to different platforms.
You'll learn how to export and store your videos correctly.
