Who’s ready to bring a little piece of the old world back to life?Nearly ten years ago, somewhere in my fascination with growing tiny worlds beneath glass, I came across the story of Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward.
In 1829, while observing a moth chrysalis inside a sealed glass vessel with a little damp earth, something unexpected happened. A tiny fern began to grow.
That beautiful accident would eventually lead to the Wardian case, allowing delicate living plants to travel protected across oceans, quietly growing inside their little glass worlds while an entire ocean passed around them.
That story stayed tucked away with me.
So, when I found this beautiful old world glass vessel, I knew exactly what I wanted to create.
The Victorian Wardian Case Garden.
Join me as we step back in time and create a lush little world of our own beneath glass. This is one of our more intricate specialty builds, created inside a beautiful ornate hanging glass vessel and designed to become a truly unique living statement piece in your home. I’ll be there to guide you through every layer, so no previous terrarium experience is needed.
Tickets are $140 per gardener and include your guided workshop with Jen, one Wardian style hanging glass vessel and hook, live plants, moss, soil, natural elements, decorative accents, all terrarium building supplies and aftercare instructions to help your little world live on for years to come.
We’ll have a few delicious, sweet treats to keep our creativity properly fueled, along with plenty of old world magic in the air.
Because this is one of our specialty builds, this will be a smaller, more intimate workshop with very limited seating.
Come curious. Leave with a little world of your own.
Please note: Plants, decorative elements and terrarium vessels may vary slightly from those pictured based on availability.
Please note that we reserve the right to reschedule our workshops due to any unforeseen weather conditions or family emergency. We will let you know within 24 hours rescheduling dates and start time.
All ticket sales are non-refundable.
