The Victoria Film Society is kicking off an October Horror film series set to begin Monday, October 5 and continue each Monday in October. The series includes classic slasher films from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.General admission is free. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., 30 minutes before the screening. The film begins at 7PM after a brief introduction.
The Victoria Film Society was founded in 2015 as a registered nonprofit organization, dedicated to bringing independent and celebrated cinema to Victoria, Texas. In the years that followed, we screened over 90 films across venues throughout the community.
While our nonprofit chapter has since closed, the society lives on — independently operated by Russell Fowler and Carolina Astrain, and made possible by the generosity of our patrons. The mission remains unchanged: great films, good company, and a community that shows up for the movies that matter.

“Psycho” (1960), dir. Alfred Hitchcock will start at 7 p.m. at the Welder Center on Monday, October 5, 2026.
“Halloween” (1978), dir. John Carpenter will start at 7 p.m. at the Welder Center on Monday, October 12, 2026.
“Friday the 13th” (1980), dir. Sean S. Cunningham will start at 7 p.m. at the Welder Center on Monday, October 19, 2026.
“A Nightmare on Elm Street” (1984), dir. Wes Craven will start at 7 p.m. at the Welder Center on Monday, October 26, 2026.

Moonshine Drinkery is located at 103 W. Santa Rosa Street and the Welder Center is located at 214 N. Main Street.
