About this Event
Veterans to Venture – Energy is a four-hour engagement, innovation, and entrepreneurship event designed to connect Louisiana’s military and veteran community with opportunities across energy, technology, commercialization, entrepreneurship, and business development.
Veterans, National Guard members, Reserve members, veteran entrepreneurs, transitioning service members, and veteran students are strongly encouraged to attend.
This event is for those who:
Own or are building a veteran-led startup or small business
Serve in the Louisiana National Guard or Reserve
Are currently enrolled as a veteran student
Are transitioning from military service and exploring their next career or business opportunity
Work in the energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, technology, or industrial sectors
Want to learn how to license intellectual property and turn technology into a business
Are interested in starting or growing a company
Want to commercialize university, federal, or emerging technologies
Are looking for careers and opportunities within Louisiana’s energy economy
Want to connect with founders, researchers, industry leaders, investors, universities, and other veterans
Led by FUEL, Maven Scouts, LSU, and the Louisiana Veterans Energy Network (LVEN), the program will bring together veterans, service members, students, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, researchers, and ecosystem partners for networking, veteran success stories, startup exposure, technology commercialization, and practical pathways into entrepreneurship and business ownership.
Participants will learn more about opportunities in areas including energy, hydrogen, carbon capture, water technology, advanced energy materials, microgrids, petrochemicals, manufacturing, critical infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
Veterans will also be introduced to how university and government-developed intellectual property can move from the laboratory into the marketplace, how technologies can be licensed, and how those technologies can potentially become the foundation for new veteran-owned companies.
The goal is to identify and support members of Louisiana’s military and veteran community who want to start companies, grow businesses, license technology, commercialize innovation, enter the energy industry, or build stronger connections across Louisiana’s energy and innovation ecosystem.
