🇺🇸 SPRINGFIELD VETERANS DAY PARADE 🇺🇸I wonder how many people in our community realize that Springfield has an annual Veterans Day parade. Sadly, I don't think nearly enough people know about it.
I understand life gets busy, but taking a few minutes to stand along the parade route, wave, smile, and show appreciation as our local veterans make their way through those few short blocks can mean so much.
More importantly, I hope parents and grandparents will take the time to explain to their children what our military represents, what it has done for this country, and the sacrifices made by the men and women who have served.
I know some say, "They signed up for it." And yes, they did. But I hope people understand WHY they signed up, what that commitment means, and the sacrifices that come with serving something bigger than yourself.
With each passing generation, I worry we are losing some of that understanding and appreciation. We have a responsibility to pass it along so the service and sacrifices of those who came before us are never forgotten.
So bring your kids, bring your grandkids, wave a flag, and help us show our veterans that their service matters!
And don't forget, there will be a FREE MEAL for our veterans and their families afterward at VFW Post 755!
Let's come together as a community, honor those who served, and teach the next generation why it matters.
