Join us for a welcoming evening at the museum after regular hours, set aside especially for veterans and their families. Connect with fellow veterans, share memories, and explore the museum together at your own pace. Whether you are visiting for the first time or returning to a favorite exhibit, we invite you to spend an evening enjoying history and good company. As a special feature of the evening, our partners at the Bangor Historical Society will bring their William J. Stone copy of the Declaration of Independence to the museum for viewing:
Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with an up-close view of the William J. Stone copy of the Declaration of Independence. Commissioned in 1820, it took William Stone three years to produce the copperplate used to print the "first exact copies" of the Declaration that was signed 250 years ago. The Bangor Historical Society's copy is one of fewer than 50 known remaining William Stone Declarations.
Veterans, bring your families, invite a fellow veteran, and join us for an evening of connection and remembrance. We look forward to welcoming you!
