This event offers the opportunity to gather so that we can remember, honor, and celebrate those veterans and first responders who have given so much to protect our nation and our loved ones.
PROGRAM:
Music provided by The Center's own band, directed by Bob Dononberger, playing a selection of patriotic and traditional songs.
Special Guest Speaker: Dr. Joel Jenkins: A retired Colonel who served as Chaplain in the National Guard, Army Reserve and active-duty Army. He served in Iraq and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. He officiated the Memorial Service at the Pentagon for personnel killed during the 9/11 attacks. Previously Dr. Jenkins was Senior Pastor at the Charlottesville First Baptist Church.
Dance music will be provided by Jimmy O and Sam Morris, well-known local entertainers.
The program will be MC'd by David Fortna, a Center member and retired Air Force Colonel and NATO staff officer who served in various US international assignments, including South Korea, Iraq, Pakistan, and northern Africa.
