During this unique two-day workshop, Rebecca Hutchinson will work with participants to create a mixed-media structure or vessel. Inspired by her exhibition Embedded in the Overlap, participants will learn about using personally harvested materials for formal or narrative outcomes, and binders for mixed-media such as clay, adhesives, paper pulp, plaster, and/or cement products. Each participant is encouraged to bring in personal and symbolic mixed-media materials to construct memorable forms, old photographs or drawings, sewing scraps, baby clothes, sewing patterns, patches or uniforms, anything of symbolic reference to make personal icons and sculptural form.Vessel Making with Rebecca Hutchinson: Responding to a Sense of The Vernacular
