Cette exposition favorise un échange au cours duquel les artistes et le public peuvent observer et découvrir des techniques de fabrication propres aux peuples et cultures des Territoires du Nord-Ouest.
Échanges célèbre des œuvres décoratives et des oeuvres à porter créées par les artistes pluridisciplinaires Alisa Blake (Gwich'in-Métis et Inuvialuit) et Catherine Blondin (Déné) ; des tapisseries narratives d'envergure et des parures délicates réalisées par des artisanes travaillant le perlage et les peaux, telles que Cheryl Fennell (Déné), Cynthia Pavlovich (Gwich'in), et Sheena Yakeleya (Déné) ; et des représentations animalières du sculpteur John Sabourin (Déné).
Commissaire: 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗵.

The Guild proudly presents, Exchanges: A Showcase of Indigenous Fine Crafts from the Northwest Territories. Join us Thursday, October 8 at 5:30 PM for the opening night!
This exhibition supports an exchange in which local artists, artisans, and their admirers can observe and experience making techniques specific to the Northwest Territories. The works on display include caribou and moose hair tufting from the Southern Dhecho region, the 5-petal rose motif, hide tanning and quillwork and beading.
Exchanges celebrates the wearable and decorative artworks by multi-disciplinary artists Alisa Blake (Gwich'in Metis and lnuvialuit) and Catherine Blondin (Dene); sweeping, narrative tapestries and delicate adornments by bead and hide workers Cheryl Fennell (Dene), Cynthia Pavlovich (Gwich’in), and Sheena Yakeleya (Dene); and representations of fauna by sculptor John Sabourin (Dene).
Curator: 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗵.
