🪵 JON BLACK | STILL BUILDING
For 20 years, Dieppe-based artist Jon Black has been creating extraordinary things from wood, including 15 years as a familiar face at the Moncton Market.
Known for his adventurous scale, inventive designs, and love of reclaimed materials, Jon lets the wood itself help guide his creative process.
Still Building celebrates two decades of craftsmanship and imagination, featuring large-scale panels made from skateboard fragments, collaborations with local painters, and functional pieces that blur the lines between furniture and art.
Twenty years in, Jon is still experimenting, still exploring, and still finding possibilities in materials others might overlook.
🎨 STEPHEN BRANDER | RIGMAROLE
Fiddler's Folk Art
"A ridiculous journey. An unexpected place."
At 55, after a career in marketing and advertising, Stephen Brander picked up a piece of wood to see what might happen. Fiddler's Folk Art was born!
His wonderfully offbeat carvings and paintings are full of colour, humour, storytelling, and delightful surprises.
Rigmarole invites visitors into a world of vibrant whatnots, furthermores, and creations that happily defy description. It's a celebration of curiosity, imperfection, and the joy of following an unexpected idea wherever it leads.
Stephen's work has been featured nationally by Global News, appeared on three O Canada Crosswords covers, and been part of THIRD SHIFT in Saint John and Nocturne: Art at Night in Halifax.
His studio name also carries a special family connection, honouring Fiddler's Forge, the blacksmith shop founded by his late father.
