About this Event
The VENICE NOIR tour takes guests at dusk through some of the city’s most mysterious places. The VENICE NOIR TOUR, led by a licensed tour guide for the city of Venice, takes guests at dusk through particularly mysterious places that have been the scene of sinister events and crimes of passion. A walk after sunset is always a fascinating experience, but it becomes truly gripping when, as darkness falls, you venture into hidden corners that over the centuries have witnessed heinous murders, unsettling events, and unresolved mysteries. If it’s true that the city, with its narrow alleys and intricate paths, naturally lends itself to mysterious tales, it’s equally true that over the centuries Venice has been the stage for daring robberies, secret alliances, and a cat-and-mouse game between criminals and authorities along its canals—stories of conspiracies, revenge, and enigmatic figures that have shaped the fate of unsuspecting victims. The tour starts at La Fenice, with the infamous scuola dei picai, and between one story and the next, passing by the Bovolo staircase, we’ll reach the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge, then lose ourselves in hidden courtyards around the San Bortolo area, passing through Corte del Milion and ending in St. Mark’s Square. Venice is an open-air museum, but centuries of lived history have left an indelible mark in every corner of the city—one well worth discovering.
