This festive season, the Crafts Council of Karnataka presents the 2026 edition of Vastrabharana, its flagship saree, textile and jewellery showcase, at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bengaluru.
Meghdhanush takes you on a curated journey through India’s extraordinary spectrum of craft—where colour meets technique, heritage meets contemporary design, and generations of knowledge meet new ways of living with craft.

60 curated labels bringing together distinctive textiles, sarees and craft traditions from across India. These exclusive and authentic signature products are sure to add joy to your festive season
What might you discover?
From Rajasthan’s fluid Leheriya, knotted Bandhani, and block-printed Bagru and Syahi–Begar, to Gujarat’s geometric Ajrakh & Bagh rare Mandvi Mashru, and the woven heritage of Bhujodi, Kandhari, Aahir and other Kutch Traditions.
India’s textile landscape is a living canvas. Northern craft roots itself in Lucknow’s delicate Chikankari and Mukaish, Punjab’s vibrant Phulkari, and the gilded splendor of Varanasi’s Banarasi and Kinkhab. Moving through central India, Madhya Pradesh breathes lightness into Chanderi and Maheshwari, while Bengal’s Kantha and Jamdani meet Odisha’s crimson Kotpad and Pasapalli/Ikat, and Chhattisgarh’s wild Kosa Silk.
Further east, Assam yields its golden Muga and non-violent Eri Silk. The Northeast seven sisters bring their tribal weaves. Down south, Karnataka anchors history in Kasuti embroidery alongside Molakalmuru, Ilkal, Khunn, and Udupi weaves. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh lend the sheer elegance of Uppada, Venkatgiri and Kalamkari , while Tamil Nadu shines through Kanjivaram, Kalakshetra Korvai, and Madurai’s Sungudi. Across Maharashtra, Paithani flourishes, while the humble warmth of Khadi unites every corner of the country into a single, breathtaking tapestry.
Who could you meet?
Vastrabharana brings together a galaxy of recognised and award-winning artisans, renowned revivalists and distinguished design practitioners—including generational custodians of craft and practitioners whose work has received national or international recognition like UNESCO seal-of-excellence.
What to look out for
For the first time, explore a dedicated grand Jewellery Pavilion, bringing together a spectrum of adornment—from South Indian jewellery and Royal Jadau from Jaipur to polki kundan, vintage silver, antique jewels, heirloom pieces, coloured diamonds and lab-grown diamonds.
And look out for special stories within the showcase—from jewellery inspired by Hoysala sculpture to revived regional weaves and contemporary interpretations of traditional techniques.
At its heart, Vastrabharana is about more than beautiful things. It is about who makes them, where they come from, the knowledge they carry, and the hands that keep that knowledge alive.
