Daugiau informacijos:

On November 9, we invite you to another “Valanda su RATILIO”, where we’ll gather to enjoy the gentle, soothing sound of the kanklės, a traditional Lithuanian zither, and join in the songs.
This evening, we’ll explore the repertoire of the Skriaudžiai ensemble “Kanklės”. This year marks the ensemble’s 120th anniversary, hence, 2026 has been declared the Year of the Kanklės. We’ll also welcome a special guest, Vytautas Alenskas, a music educator and former leader of the “Kanklės” ensemble. He’ll not only perform on the instrument but also share stories about its history and traditions.
Together, we’ll take a glimpse into a time when this instrument was an integral part of everyday life. Some of the songs, composed by Pranas Puskunigis, the founder of the ensemble, revolve around the kanklės themselves and their fate, helping us admire this traditional instrument even more.

“Valanda su RATILIO”, a series of open rehearsals, invites the Vilnius University community to take a break from their academic routines and, together with the members of Ratilio, immerse themselves in Lithuanian folklore. This autumn, the Great Aula will continue to echo with the lulling sound of kanklės (traditional Lithuanian zithers). The series will conclude with Advent–Christmas folklore.
We will meet in the Great Aula of Vilnius University, forming a shared circle led by the members of Ratilio and joined by all participants!
🇱🇹 The event will be held in Lithuanian, but we’ll be there to help you out and translate if needed.
📱 We recommend that you have a smartphone in your pocket (we will share a link to the songbook in .pdf format).
📷 Your presence at the event constitutes your consent to be photographed, filmed, and/or otherwise recorded and to the use of the recorded media for VU publicity purposes.
📍 The event is organised by Vilnius University Culture Centre. For more information, see:
