Join us for an inspiring evening of music featuring talented student musicians from the UTRGV School of Music!
The Master Chorale and Brownsville Guitar Ensemble will perform Kile Smith's "The Dawn's Early Light", which sets text from Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins book Life Among the Piutes: Their Wrongs and Claims, which was the first published book by a Native American woman. Music for solo voice and guitar will be sung by UTRGV voice faculty, and additional a capella music by J.S. Bach, Jocelyn Hagen, and Rodolfo Hafftler will ring in the beautiful acoustics of St. Eugene de Mazenod's sanctuary.
The Master Chorale is directed by Dr. Sean Taylor and the Guitar Ensemble is directed by Dr. Michael Quantz, both serve as Full Professors for the UTRGV School of Music on the Brownsville campus.
