This showcase features three KC indie pop/rock bands:
Use Your Atlas is a Kansas City-based band formed in 2007 by Jeremy Chugg, Dave Dalbey, Josh Orwig, Nick Welch, and Jonny Wooddell. They blend indie rock, alternative influences, and a little bit of twang into a sound that has been described as "Denim Rock." Known for honest songwriting, memorable melodies, and a sound that feels both familiar and timeless, the band remains what it has always been: a group of longtime friends who still love creating and performing music together after nearly 20 years.
Golden Groves is ani ndie pop-rock band based out of the Kansas City area. Formed around 2013, the band took inspiration for its name from the wheat fields of Kansas. They playfully describe themselves as a full-time "indie pop dad band" and blend jazz and rock-and-roll backgrounds into an engaging sound that ranges from moody to danceable.
