Academia Duellatoria continues it's partnership with the National Park Service at Fort Vancouver. We will be running two course on the use of the Military Sabre according to military drill as practiced by the Dragoons in the 1800's. Class will include sabre drill training and history talks over 7 Sunday sessions starting March 24th, 2024 and ending May 5th, 2024.There will be two classes - basic 1 starting at 3:00pm and basic 2 starting at 5:00. You must take Basic 1 to take Basic 2. Additionally those who have passed proficiency after taking the basic 2 course can take our intermediate class on the same dates. (please note that in case of low enrollment these classes may be combined to happen at the same time)
Fort Vancouver housed the first Army post in the Pacific North West (established in 1849 on the hillside above the Hudson Bay Company's Fort) and was one of the homes to the 1st U.S. Dragoons.
Registration for the class is thru Academia Duellatoria and cost $100 for the series. Contact Jeff at Academia Duellatoria to register. All registrations must be paid for before the class begins. Registration is limited to 14 participants in each class.
