About this Event
Seattle Forest Week is November 7th - 15th and we are hosting our event on Friday the 13th of that week.
This is the time of year that we get together with our community and kick off tree planting season. From creating wildlife habitat, to combating climate change, and providing a place for residents to recreate: having a hand in Seattle Forest Week is one of the best ways to give back to your neighbors, parks, and your local forest.
Join the fun and be one of hundreds of volunteers across the city planting native trees, shrubs, and groundcovers that will become the future forest of Seattle. All community members are welcome, and no experience is necessary. These events are family friendly and open to all ages.
What to Bring
Come dressed for the weather (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (rubber boots, hiking shoes or boots), long sleeves, long pants, warm layers and rain jacket. We'll have tools and gloves for you to use. Bring any water/tea/snacks you might want.
Where to Meet
The intersection provided (Willow St and 24th Ave SW) will get you to the south end of the green space, where you will take the trail north to our meeting spot, at the creek bridge. You can also arrive from the north side where 24th Ave SW dead ends with the green space trail, where you'd walk south to the bridge.
Where to Park
There is street parking on the south side of the greenspace around Willow st, as well as the north side of the green space along 24th Ave SW, and more further north near the triangle corner where 24th meets 25th.
Public Transit
The H line is a rapid line bus that runs between downtown Seattle and Burien and will drop you off on Delridge very close to the space, just a few minutes walk.
