-Meet at the Washington Square Park Playground

Birds are all around us. Let's observe and appreciate them together. We will meet in Washington Square to begin our walk and from there we will explore the 3rd oldest neighborhood in New Orleans. We will discuss not just the birds but the ways in which we as humans can help make the environment better for the birds and all of nature.
It is currently Fall Migration so we will likely see resident birds AND visitors passing through.
This walk will be guided by Helen Sierminski, Urban Naturalist and practicing Augur (Bird Divination). She explores the neighborhood on a daily basis, observing and communing with the birds and the rest of nature. Her unique holistic approach to experiencing nature combines science, spirituality, aesthetics as well as mental and physical health to guide others towards a true appreciation of nature.
Bring your binoculars (if you have them). There will be one loaner pair available, first come, first serve.
This walk is free but donations are happily accepted.
