Uprooted: Storytelling Showcase
Saturday, October 10 | 2:00 PM (right after 2nd Saturday activities)
Main Street Gallery @ WORK_SPACE | FREE
Every story has roots. Come hear where they lead.
Participants in the two week Roots Run Deep Community Storytelling Lab have been exploring the people, places, experiences, and histories that have shaped who they are.
At UPROOTED, they’ll step forward to share excerpts of the stories they’ve uncovered and developed—personal reflections on roots, heritage, resilience, becoming, and belonging.
Storytelling is more than speaking; it’s also being heard. We invite you to be part of a welcoming community of listeners and witnesses as these writers share work that is personal, meaningful, and uniquely their own.
Come listen. Come connect. Come celebrate the courage it takes to tell our stories—and the connections we discover when we hear one another’s.
Free and open to the public.
Come early and make a day of storytelling! Join one or both of our FREE writing groups (ages 16+) before the showcase. The Poet-Tea at 10 AM and The Writer’s Playground at 12 PM will both explore our storytelling heritage and the Hero’s Journey—and perhaps inspire a story of your own.
