Discover what's possible at The Independent School!A strong high school education should do more than prepare students for the next test. It should challenge them to think critically, ask thoughtful questions, develop their own ideas, and graduate ready for what comes next.
At The Independent School, rigorous college-preparatory academics meet the personal attention of a close-knit school community. Students are known by their teachers, encouraged to find their voice, and given opportunities to explore their interests both inside and outside the classroom.
Join us for our Upper School Showcase on Tuesday, November 10, at 6:30 p.m.
Explore what makes the TIS Upper School experience different:
Challenging Academics: Discover our Honors program, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, AP Capstone, and dual credit opportunities through Wichita State University, Friends University, and Newman University.
College Preparation: Learn how individualized college counseling, advanced coursework, and an emphasis on writing, research, and critical thinking help students prepare for college and beyond.
Learning That Goes Deeper: See how students build confidence through hands-on learning, independent research, classroom discussions, and opportunities to present and defend their ideas.
Opportunities to Get Involved: Explore athletics, performing and visual arts, debate, STEM, student leadership, clubs, and the traditions that make high school memorable.
A Community Where Students Are Known: Learn how our smaller learning environment allows teachers to challenge students academically while recognizing their individual strengths, interests, and goals.
During the Showcase, families will have the opportunity to meet Mrs. Alison Kubish, Head of Upper School, connect with teachers, explore classrooms, and ask questions about the TIS experience.
Whether your family is preparing for the transition to high school or considering a new educational environment, we'd love to welcome you.
