About this Event
I need you to understand the situation;
I am 30,000 feet in the air. Delta Airlines. First class. En route to Chicago. Already a little tipsy off the pre-flight champagne.
But I just got the go ahead from Brandon, December 3rd is a lock.
Like many of you, my first reaction to hearing Tinashe's Popstar for the first time was "Wow." My second reaction was "I cannot wait to go dancing to this." I'm not waiting any longer, Uplift: A Tinashe Celebration is coming to High Tide DTLA on December 3rd, 2026.
I first encountered Tinashe via "2 On," her instant classic peak-Mustard 2013 single. I followed her career as she struggled with label drama and diminishing returns. But she never lost that spark. Everything she has released since Aquarious in 2014 has been even more creative, even more iconoclastic, even as they've slid down the charts.
But then, Popstar. Not only is it so obviously the album of the year, it became her first album to debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 ever. As I type this, "Melatonin" is well on its way to becoming a real deal hit single.
We simply must celebrate. On December 3rd we will do just that. I, DJ Holiday Kirk, cannot wait to build a innovative, imersive setlist dedicated to Tinashe's entire career. Her hits, her deep cuts, her peers and influences.
Nobody wanna dance anymore? I bet they do.
Tickets available now.
p.s. thank u 2 my seatmate Lisa B for taking that baller photo of me up there
