Join us October 1–November 5, 2026 for the Florida Master Naturalist Program: Upland Systems Course at the Hillsborough County Extension Office and field sites across the region! 🌿This multi-day course explores Florida’s diverse upland ecosystems, including scrub, dry prairie, rangeland, pinelands, and hardwood forests, along with the wildlife that depends on them. Through engaging presentations, videos, and interactive group activities, participants will build a deeper understanding of these habitats and how to interpret them for others.
The course includes several outdoor field experiences, including visits to Hillsborough River State Park and Blackwater Creek Nature Preserve, where you’ll learn about conservation challenges, habitat management, and native species in real-world settings. Along the way, participants will practice their skills through interpretive talks, group projects, and a guided nature journaling activity.
