For more than 40 years, Robert has captivated audiences across the United States, Canada, and Europe with performances that are equal parts concert, history lesson, and inspiring conversation. A gifted multi-instrumentalist, he effortlessly weaves together blues, folk, gospel, and traditional music on guitar, harmonica, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and ukulele, creating an experience that is as entertaining as it is deeply moving.
Every performance is filled with unforgettable stories, infectious humor, and extraordinary musicianship, revealing the rich cultural traditions behind the music and the timeless connections that unite us all.
Honored by the National Blues Foundation for his work as a blues educator, Robert has taught at Wayne State University, serves on the affiliate faculty at Berklee College of Music, hosted programs on Detroit Public Radio, and was named a 2018 Kresge Arts Fellow.
His passion for preserving America's musical heritage has made him one of the country's most sought-after performers.
