Join acclaimed writer Kathie Giorgio for a compassionate, generative workshop exploring how writing can help us navigate profound loss. Following the sudden death of her husband, Giorgio turned to storytelling to survive and make sense of the unimaginable.
Whether you are a seasoned writer or have never put pen to paper, this session offers a gentle, structured space to apply fiction, nonfiction, and poetry to personal grief. Discover how transforming sorrow into language can lift the weight of isolation and guide you toward a renewed sense of recovery and hope.

KATHIE GIORGIO is the author of a total of sixteen traditionally published books: eight novels, two short story collections, an essay collection, and five poetry collections. A new poetry collection, The Birth Of A Widow, will be released in early 2026. A new novel, Unique In All The World, will be released in February of 2027. She’s been nominated for the Pushcart Prize in fiction and poetry and awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Wisconsin Library Association and the Eric Hoffer Award In Fiction, among many more. She lives in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
