About this Event

Join the by the Entrepreneurship and Medicine & Health Panels on the 3rd of June for an expert panel talk on Unlocking UK’s Longevity Dividend.

It is a miracle of modern medicine that people are living longer. The hard truth is that people are living longer with increasing care needs. The prize for reducing the burden of care and increasing healthy life expectancy is as much as an extra £3.8 billion to UK GDP (ILC UK Missing Billions). Spending by people over 50 already represents 22% of GDP across G20 households. McKinsey’s Health Institute recently reported that one dollar invested in “healthy ageing” interventions can deliver $3 return-on-investment.

“The future is already here – it's just not evenly distributed.”

The good news is that solutions exist and UK entrepreneurs are making progress on the global stage. This event will dive into the core elements of the “Longevity Dividend” and highlight what UK entrepreneurs are doing to unlock it and how you can be part of the action.

Our speakers and panel will be:

Eric Kihlstrom, a strategic advisor to Aging2.0, a global innovation network focused on improving the quality of life for older people with 40,000 members globally

Tarryn Gorre, a tech founder and commercial leader who built and exited Kafoodle, a food-tech company focused on driving data transparency across the hospitality and healthcare sectors. Now working with a portfolio of companies, shaping commercial strategy, aligning product and market execution, and driving scalable growth.

Dr Ed Middleton, co-founder of Evekin - a start-up building an AI companion and assistant to keep older people healthy and independent. Previously, Ed was Health and Care Advisor to the Prime Minister and Visiting Fellow in AI at Stanford University.

Graham Byrne, CEO of Denturly,14 dental clinics with a tech-enabled denture platform targeting the elderly. Also Chair of Eldercate, a social enterprise delivering live virtual learning to care homes

Allisyn James, an experienced commercial growth strategist and leadership capability consultant. She is active in the >50’s ageing agenda where she brings a fresh commercial perspective. Thinking in ‘systems’ to seek purpose, cash and community for this population, and engaging with the ecosystem on some of the largest challenges faced in health and welfare

Event purpose:

1. Explain the Longevity Dividend and why healthier ageing matters for UK productivity, growth and public finances.

2. Showcase successful UK scale-ups and innovators addressing the healthy ageing opportunity.

3. Create connections between entrepreneurs, investors and corporates with an interest in the healthtech sector and keen to learn more about healthy ageing.

Tickets are £20 to include drinks and refreshments over networking.
