Families thrive when the adults holding them together are steady, supported and believed in. We believe that when you lift up a parent, you lift up their kids too. And when we lift up one family, we strengthen our entire community.Brandy is a perfect example.
She spent 1,378 days without a home, employed through much of it, and still could not find her way back to stable housing alone. Getting out took more than effort. It took people willing to give her a chance.
At this year's United for Impact Women’s Luncheon, we’ll hear Brandy’s story and explore what it takes to help families move from surviving to stability. You’ll hear from Brandy, learn more about United Way’s work to help children and families thrive, and see how the support raised at this event helps make that work possible.
The Women's Luncheon brings women together to connect, enjoy lunch and take part in conversation, games, raffle boards and a silent auction. Proceeds from these activities go back into the community to support children and families facing challenges like the ones Brandy experienced.
Because Brandy’s story is not an isolated one.
Across Cass and Clay counties, 1 in 7 children are growing up in poverty. Many more live in families that earn too much to qualify for help and not enough to cover the basics.
This is why we gather. To listen, learn, connect and find ways to support the people and families who make up our community. We invite you to join us.
United is the way we help kids and families thrive.
