The advice to just “google it” is almost as old as the search engine itself. Their founding mission was “to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful”, they used to accomplish this by presenting the most relevant results as fast as possible. Today the mission statement hasn’t changed but the method has. The first thing you see when you “google it” is an AI response or summary. This is a shift that is happening in nearly every company that can find an excuse to use AI. In this presentation and discussion we will see how AI has been incorporated into the tools and websites most people use daily. We will talk about how this is changing the internet in general and what you can do to limit its encroachment into your own digital life if you are looking to avoid it.
Jack was born in Cooperstown NY and lived there until his sophomore year in high school when he moved to Jackson Hole and attended the JH Community School. During college, Jack took a temporary job working at the Jackson Hole Computer Clinic (JHCC) that turned into a permanent job with the onset of COVID. Finishing his last college semester online, Jack trained to become one of the technicians at JHCC. Almost 6 years later, Jack is now the head Technician and Manager of JHCC. He works with people to fix their computer issues and other electronic problems.
