Sensory processing differences can have a significant impact on how neurodivergent individuals experience and interact with the world. This workshop provides an introduction to sensory processing, exploring the differences between sensory seeking and sensory avoidance, common sensory triggers, and how these can affect daily life. Participants will gain practical, neuro-affirming strategies to create supportive environments that reduce distress, improve participation, and help neurodivergent individuals thrive at home, school, work, and in the community.

About the Presenter
Skye is a highly experienced Psychologist with over 10 years in private practice and has been supporting the Hervey Bay community since 2021. She is known for her compassionate, evidence-based approach and her commitment to inclusive, neuro-affirming care. Skye works with neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan, including those with autism, ADHD, and cognitive differences. Her approach is strengths-based and person-centred, supporting individuals, families, and support networks to better understand diverse ways of thinking, processing, and engaging with the world.
She is passionate about reducing stigma and shifting perspectives away from deficit-based models, instead recognising neurodivergence as an important part of identity. Her work focuses on translating psychological knowledge into practical strategies that enhance wellbeing, participation, and quality of life.
About Bright Day Psychology
Bright Day Psychology is a Hervey Bay-based practice providing inclusive, evidence-based psychological services through comprehensive assessment and tailored therapeutic support. The team is dedicated to creating a safe, respectful space where people feel understood, supported, and empowered.
In addition to individual therapy, Bright Day Psychology contributes to the local community through education, supervision, and professional development.
