About this Event
Join us during Grief Awareness Week (2nd–8th December 2026) for our Understanding Grief Talk, presented in collaboration with the Waltham Forest Mental Health and Wellness Team (NELFT NHS Foundation Trust). Our event aims to raise awareness and encourage open conversations about grief and loss.
The talk will provide information about grief and the grieving process to dispel common myths and misconceptions surrounding grief. We will also discuss the various ways that grief can affect us and explore coping strategies to look after ourselves and to support others.
The talk is suitable for those grieving and anyone who wants to increase their understanding of grief and how they can compassionately support others.
It will be an interactive session but there will be no expectation that you have to participate – you are welcome to just come along and listen.
Everyone is welcome – whether you’ve been personally affected by grief or simply want to understand it better. Book your free place today.
Please note: This talk will take place at The Margaret Centre, the palliative care unit at Whipps Cross Hospital. Hospital staff will also be attending, so you will be sharing the space with both local people and members of the hospital team. We have held this talk before, and it worked well, creating valuable opportunities for conversation between hospital staff and people from the wider community. If you have any questions or concerns about the venue, please get in touch before booking.
