About this Event
This training will examine the impact of bias and stigma on peer support services. Participants will be able to define implicit bias and recognize how it appears in peer support interactions, documentation and organizational culture. Participants will learn how to identify their personal biases and how to minimize the impact of those biases in peer interactions. Participants will understand the three types of stigma (structural stigma, social stigma, and self-stigma) and how they impact help-seeking behavior. Participants will learn strategies to reduce stigma in peer support interactions, documentation and communications.
