Understanding Anxiety in Autistic Children

Autistic children can often appear more anxious than other children. This is partly because the world can feel uncertain, overwhelming, and sometimes unsafe for them, and partly because they experience sensory input and emotions
differently. Anxiety can have a significant impact on their
mental health, learning, and everyday wellbeing.
This training explores how anxiety affects autistic young
people, how it may present in behaviour, and how adults can provide the right support to help them feel safe, understood, and more confident.
Participants will gain practical strategies to support
co-regulation and self-regulation, helping autistic children
manage uncertainty and feel more in control in school, at home, and in the wider world.
