Learn how addiction affects the whole family and discover compassionate, practical ways to restore connection and support recovery
About this Event

When families are educated and equipped regarding substance use concerns, and engage in their own recovery process, treatment outcomes double.

In this interactive workshop informed by the CRAFT* approach, we'll help you develop and improve your communication and collaboration skills with your loved one. You'll learn how to activate your own recovery and how to start changing the dynamics in your relationships to create a healthy family eco-system.

What you will learn:

  • How to define what substance use is and why behaviors make sense
  • How we can live out our own personal values regardless of our circumstances
  • How we can communicate in a way that creates collaboration and clarity
  • Actionable solutions that can change your family dynamic right away

This workshop takes place from 5:30 - 7:00 PM Central Time. The information presented in this workshop is informed by the following evidence-based best practices and treatments: CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training), MI (Motivational Interviewing), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).

*About CRAFT: Community Reinforcement and Family Training, or CRAFT, is an approach for families who have a loved one struggling with substances, that invites change and assists in moving someone towards seeking help. CRAFT is about learning a different method to communicate with and support your loved one. It’s about taking care of yourself, while also learning how to interact with your loved one in a way that increases the likelihood of making a real change.

Whether you are a family member, a community member, or someone working to support those using substances, this workshop will allow you to leave with insights and solutions that will have immediate impact.
