About this Event
Million-dollar flats, forgotten cemeteries, hidden spaces and a "VIP block" few Singaporeans have ever seen. Welcome to Bishan, like you've never experienced it before.
Today, Bishan is one of Singapore's most sought-after residential estates, home to million-dollar HDB flats, bustling neighbourhood shops and familiar heartland spaces. But beneath its modern landscape lies a fascinating past that few people know about.
Before Bishan became the thriving neighbourhood we know today, much of the area was occupied by Peck San Theng, one of Singapore's largest Chinese cemeteries, with over 100,000 graves. As the cemetery gave way to redevelopment in the 1980s, an entirely new town emerged, although traces of its unusual history can still be found in unexpected places.
Join Hidden Heritage as we venture beyond Bishan's familiar shopping malls and housing blocks to uncover a neighbourhood filled with surprising stories, forgotten histories and extraordinary spaces hiding in plain sight.
