MsMono Meets are working with Universal Music Publishing Group (UPMG) to host a series of in-person events that celebrate women creatives in film and TV. Our FINAL event Navigating a Sucessful Creative Career will feature BAFTA-winning multi camera director Abigail Dankwa, producer Laurelle Jones, and creative music consultant Pasha Orleans-Foli. Hosted by writer & dramaturg Fatima Serghini and followed by a Q&A with the audience.
Abigail Dankwa - Multi Camera Director
Abigail Dankwa is a versatile, creative and editorial Multi-Camera and Fixed Rig Director with Series Director credits on the BAFTA award winning Best Entertainment Programme, Life and Rhymes, a Benjamin Zephaniah hosted spoken word show, (Sky Arts), The Big Breakfast (C4) which won the RTS' Best Entertainment Award show for the one off special in 2021, Jonathan Ross's Comedy Club (ITV), It's Clarkson On TV with Jeremy Clarkson (ITV) and two series of the Grierson nominated Grayson's Art Club (C4). Abigail has also directed 24 Hours in A&E, the live CBBC show, Saturday Mash Up! Live, daytime quiz shows Lingo and Pointless, as well as, I'm a Celebrity and the satirical comedy panel show, Have I Got News For You amongst others.
Abigail came to multi camera directing after working as a Studio Floor Manager, and Stage Manager on the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies and has a background in TV production and broadcast management.
Abigail is also a Coach, Mentor and Visiting Tutor, with a keen interest in helping creative people develop their mindset and money management. She is an alumnus of The National Film and Television School, and an honouree of Broadcast Magazine Hotshot's, Edinburgh TV Festival's Ones To Watch and BAFTA's Breakthrough Brit.
Laurelle Jones - Producer
Laurelle Jones is a Producer in Podcasts, Film, Radio, and TV. I began my career as a short film writer back in 2013 with my short film . This film was the catalyst of an amazing journey and I went on to produce numerous projects including(2014); which was my debut in the role. Lia won numerous awards and was screened in around 11 festivals globally North Carolina Black Film Festival (2016) and BFM International Film Festival (2015); to name a few. In 2017, Lia was screened on US TV screen on http://aspire.tv.
In 2017 I became the Festival Coordinator for the first ever (and only) UK festival for black women and women of colour; . In 2021, as a response to the lockdown, I pursued more of a director's role and 1st AD’ed in music videos such as Davido + Focalistic ‘Champion Sound’ and Ayo Beatz + Wes Nelson ‘Habits.’. I spent two and a half years at TBN UK full-time as a Producer. I am now the producer/ project manager of London Podcast Studio’s where I manage the projects and produce them some of our clients are BBC Sound, Buzz Feed, Sony Music and more.

Pasha Orleans-Foli - Creative Music Consultant
Pasha Orleans-Foli is a creative music consultant at DLMDD, a sound branding agency where she brings campaigns and brands to life through music and sound. Her career began at Open Ear Music, where she designed music strategies for brands like Selfridges, FLANNELS, and MATCHESFashion, and collaborated with fashion houses including Alexander McQueen and Jacquemus to create soundscapes that brought their brand identities to life.
Later, she joined boutique music publisher One Two Many, working with Grammy and Ivor Novello-winning writer-producers to place music by artists like SZA, Sudan Archives, The Heavy, Sub Focus, and Arlo Parks across various media.
An alumna of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Pasha was an inaugural young artist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, where she currently serves on the New Generation Board, championing diversity in orchestral music. Her work with the Chineke! Orchestra, Europe’s first majority Black and ethnically diverse orchestra, further underscores her commitment to inclusivity in this space. Pasha’s tastes span genres from Jazz to Jungle, which she channels in performances with a touring Jungle & Drum & Bass Orchestra. Her unique blend of artistry and strategy continues to bridge brands and music in impactful ways.
Fatima Serghini – Writer/Dramaturg (Host)
Fatima Serghini is a London playwright, screenwriter, and dramaturg.
In television, Fatima trained in screenwriting at NFTS after graduating from RADA. She has since contributed to writers' rooms for Netflix shows and worked on a range of scripted television and audio projects.
In theatre, Fatima is a Literary Reader at Theatre503 and has previously worked as a writers’ room dramaturg for Stockroom (formerly Out of Joint). She is also an alumnus of the Vault Festival, Wellspring (Paines Plough) and The Criterion Theatre's new playwright program in the West End. Fatima’s work has earned her multiple nominations, including, most recently, a fellowship from the Dramaturgy UK Network.

MsMono Meets is a series of Q&As with established women working in film and TV. After two successful series online, we are working with UMPG to host our first in-person events. MsMono Meets is the creation of MsMono Productions, an award-winning scripted company telling female stories.
