UF/IFAS Extension Polk County Ag Expo

UF/IFAS Extension Polk County invites new and beginning farmers to an engaging educational event focused on connecting you with the agencies and organizations that support successful farm start‑ups and long‑term agricultural operations.

Led by the Polk County Small Farms and Pesticide Education Agent, this event brings together representatives from key governmental and private agricultural partners, including the Farm Service Agency (FSA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), Farm Credit of Central Florida, Visit Central Florida, local growers associations, and more.

Participants will learn how each agency supports farmers, with an overview of available programs, services, and resources. Topics include farm loans and financing options, conservation and cost‑share programs, crop and livestock support services, risk‑management tools, educational opportunities, and regional networking resources designed to help farms start, grow, and thrive.

In addition to presentations and Q&A sessions, participating agencies will host information booths, giving attendees the opportunity to engage in one‑on‑one conversations, ask specific questions, and receive personalized guidance tailored to their farming goals.

This event is open to the public and is especially valuable for new and aspiring farmers seeking clarity on where to start, how to navigate agricultural programs, and how to access technical and financial assistance. Attendees will leave with practical knowledge, useful contacts, and a stronger foundation for success in Florida agriculture.
